"bring it on!" minus the "on"

I've had a question of my own about "bring it on" for a while: When did it
change to what seems (based on my own subjective, unresearched impression)
to be the currently preferred version "bring it", and how? The first
attestation I find is a 2001 Playstation 2 title, "WWF Smackdown: Just Bring
It!" (the year after the movie "Bring It On" was released).
