"and" in numerical expressions

Would more than an infinitesimal number of people say or write "a
hundred one X"?  As contrasted to those who might say/write "one
hundred one X". like John Baker.

I also wonder whether when speakers wish to call attention to the
"one more than some round number", they deliberately include "and".
