Yeah, but the alternative would be to impose confiscatory taxes on
gazillionaire job-creators who sacrificed (see other thread) to become rich.

The Constitution does not require taxpayers to provide poor people with
cash for survival, particularly since they'll just spend it on drugs and
booze and then get rich off socialist food stamps. (And don't confuse the
issue with cherry-picked exceptions!)

Remember, the indigent sacrificed *nothing* for their poverty. Thus, at the
very least, socialistic entitlements send the wrong message to young
people, who need to know that the American dream of no taxes and every son
of a bitch for himself is *alive and well*!
