We should force the Tea-Partyists to accept all of the 18th century,
when the principle was to do good for the "commonwealth", all the
people collectively, and an action approved by only a "trifling"
majority was suspect.  And when it was an accepted obligation of the
Commonwealth to support the needy (although it was also the
obligation of the latter to do what work they could).
