A spelling conformist unfamiliar with how to spell the word for bundling
hay has their knickers in a bunch over people not searching for words in
a dictionary before writing them down:

Although both the Oxford Dictionary site and Wiktionary have "tater,"
neither have "mater," which can be found at such pages as:

Mater is new to me. I am familiar with calling them "toms," a term
covered by Wiktionary (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tom) but not the
Oxford Dictionary site.
