You aren't just a bird-turding! It certainly does jar the ear. Clearly,
that "sentence-partial" - a quick Googling suggests that this term is/was
peculiar to "English grammar" as taught at the high school that I attended,
1950-54 - should have been spoken as, "TV icon who is _loved_ by all
right-thinking Americans."
