[Ads-l] "wretch-inducing"

My half-serious suggestion that the use of "wretch" for "retch" was intentional may actually have been correct.  In the second panel of today's "Pooch Cafe", the "greedy, sadistic, cynical" (Wikipedia) main character, Poncho, says " But this is really the most wretched chew toy ever! I mean, come on, who wants to put this in their mouth? It needs to be disposed of, and without delay!" Poncho then disappears out the door of the cafe, carrying the wretched chew toy in his mouth.  After a slight pause while the other dogs \consider this, they burst our of the cafe after him.

"Well, here it is: the most disgusting, revolting, wretch-inducing chew toy in the history of dogs."  From "Pooch Cafe," today.  (As illustrated, it definitely is disgusting.)  Uncorrected so far online.

Unless the idea is to connote the dogs' aggressively ravenous behavior in the last panel, where they are all fighting for possession of this chew-toy.
