[Ads-l] Linguistics 101 Textbook Suggestions

Lx 101 textbook?  First started years ago with the hot textbooks du jour.
Boring. Irrelevant to general population not feeding into pc graduate
schools. Eventually, created a variable packet that I liked and could be
dumbed down enough to satisfy the clientele (students & Complaints Dept.).
Don't know if you can do it anymore, but the ol' xerox machine did the
trick, and it was legal. There must be a "Lx 4 Dummies" out there, anyway.
