The shifts and changes in language are unending. Words are invented or
rediscovered; others fade from use. New information emerges all the time
about the origins and earliest examples of words. So, Goebel intends to
keep updating the dictionary’s online version after his retirement. And
DARE will live on in libraries and the web.
