"The Male Animal" (Thurber, Nugent) but in the film version (Epstein
brothers - Marx Brothers movie writers?), Joe Ferguson is describing the
trick play the coach is going to run against Michigan, saying something
like, "It's so corny (or crazy) but only a football genius like Coach X
could make it work."  I'll have to go home and watch it again.
