Dear all,

In Wooi (Western Yapen Is., Cenderawasih Bay, SHWNG), the word [coŋ]
means 'give' or 'make'/'do'. Neighboring languages have other words
expressing the same meanings. Can anybody suggest an etymology for Wooi
[coŋ], or point to possible cognates in other languages?

Thanks,

David
