(The information below has been posted on the Journal's Norwegian site today.)

After a number of enquiries about the JAIS1 TTW transliteration font,
we have decided to address the question of the missing typefaces
(italic, bold and bold italic) and the Acrobat 4.0 embedding problem.
Unfortunately we have been able to do this for the Windows platform
only.

As most users of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 Distiller will know, this version
of the program detects restrictions in many fonts that previous
versions ignored. When an embedding restriction is detected, the
program refuses to embed the font in question and only readers who
have that font will see it. These restrictions may not have been
intentionally included in the font. The JAIS1 font available up to
now contains such restrictions. Moreover only the roman typeface was
posted. Now an unrestricted version of JAIS1 TTW for Windows,
including roman, italic, bold, and bold italic versions can be
downloaded from:

http://www.uib.no/jais/fonts/acrojais.zip

Note that the files "querjais.zip" and "univjais.zip" in the ZIP file
are identical, the latter being included simply because our
instructions may refer to it.

The unrestricted versions of JAIS1 TTW, as well as the Keys 2.1
keyboard mapper (Windows 3.x/95/98) and the JAIS1 keyboard macros,
are contained in the new JAIS1 Windows package at:

http://www.uib.no/jais/fonts/Winpack.zip

Windows NT and 2000 users must download the shareware version of Keys
from the author's software page at:

http://szp-software.virtualave.net/

Regarding problems using JAIS1 TTW see:
