Visiting assistant professor of Arabic

University of Southern Denmark, Odense  is  looking for a visiting
assistant professor of Arabic for its proficiency based teaching in basic
and intermediate Modern Standard Arabic as well as for courses in Media
Arabic. The position involves between 11 and 12 hours of  teaching a week
to students on the combined Masters program of Arabic and business
management as well as to students at the Open University Program. The
successful candidate will also be expected to assist in developing language
curricula for Arab immigrants and Arab heritage learners living in Denmark.

Employment is to start in August 2001 and will be limited to a one-year
period with a possible extension of maximum five years. Salary will be DKK
22.859,75  per month (October 2000 level )  approximately equal to US $
2.798  per month.

Qualifications for the position include native or near-native fluency in
Arabic and English or Danish as 2nd  language. The applicant should hold an
academic degree; have a theoretical background in language education (e.g.
MA I TAFL or similar) and teaching experience.
