  FYI:  In his Qur'aan Commentary on Q2.7 [/xatama/],
al-Zamaxshari (died 1155 C.E.)(and al-BaiDaawi copies) notes that
if a person is absent for a long time, one says of him:

/?Taarat  bi-hi  l-9anqaa'u/ = "the Phoenix has flown off
with him", metaphorically.
