Subject:Simplified Arabic Materials

Hello,

For simplified texts (with added vocabulary lists, etc.), you might
want to
take a look at the following two publications, both of which are
published
in France:
1. 'TextArab' (4 issues a year, I believe): http://www.textarab.org
(address: 23 Bv Colbert, 92160 Colbert; tel: +33 1 42 37 69 50). It is
edited by Ghalib al-Hakkak, and also offers audiotapes with recordings
of
some of the texts contained in each issue.
2. 'al-Moukhtarat' (also 4 issues p/a), which is published by the
prestigious Institut du Monde Arabe. This excellent magazine contains
abridged and simplified extracts of articles from various Arabic
newspapers.
Again, audiotapes are also available.
Hope this is of use to you.

D. Newman
