The University of Louisville announces a full?time term position in  
Arabic
language and literature, beginning July 1, 2006, renewable annually for
three years. Applicants should have experience teaching US college?level
Arabic language and literature courses.  Responsibilities include  
launching
Arabic language studies at the university, teaching courses in Arabic
language at the elementary and intermediate levels, Arabic literature in
translation, and/or related courses (cultural studies, linguistics),
working with other faculty members to build an interdisciplinary  
program in
Middle East and Islamic Studies. Salary and rank commensurate with
qualifications and teaching experience. Native or near?native fluency in
Modern Standard Arabic and English required; MA required, PhD  
preferred, in
Arabic language and literature or applied linguistics.  The  
University of
