Subject:Georgetown Job (Visiting Asst. Prof.)

The Department of Arabic & Islamic Studies invites applications for  
visiting Assistant Professor of Arabic, starting in August 2008 on a  
three-year, renewable contract. PhD required. Applicants must be  
experienced in proficiency-based, communicative method teaching Modern  
Standard Arabic and spoken Arabic at all levels including upper-level  
content-based courses. Areas of specialization preferred: linguistics,  
especially applied linguistics and sociolinguistics. Experience in  
curriculum and materials development, and in proficiency testing a
