Subject:The Commander Guy

While Mr. Dick Cheney makes an unannounced visit to Iraq, and then
goes a-visiting to Egypt and other client states to mobilize Arabs
against Iran, Mr. AHmadī Nijād of Iran goes to the UAE to undercut
the US hegemony over the region. Meanwhile, President Bush re-
asserts his status as the commander-in-chief of the US armed forces.
Jih ād al-Khāzin concludes his daily column in al-Hayāt, 14/ 05/
07, with this statement:
commander gay (*)
Three words coming from Lebanon, the Arab Gulf, and Sudan are used in
the last line to mean person or man. The Egyptian equivalent is /
جَدَع / with a hard ( ﺝ ).

(*) This is a typo, and I believe Mr. al-Khāzin means "guy," not
"gay."
