Subject:Cognate Query response

Transliteration may result in a misleading similarity as is suggested
in the
query between / al-qaeda/  and /al-kaed [al-qaed]/.

Not to belabour the obvious, the two Arabic words / القاعدة/
and / القائد /
are neither cognate by descent, nor cognate by derivation; both are
participial forms from /قعد  = to sit; to stay, &ct. / & / قاد
= to lead;
to steer, &ct./.

I hope this would be of some assistance.
