Subject:George Mason U Intensive Arabic Study Abroad in Syria

Merhaba,

Dear all,

George Mason University is pleased to offer an Intensive Arabic- Study  
Abroad to Syria at the University of Damascus.

Classes begin Jan 3- ends Jan 17th. Students must be there by the 2nd  
of Jan.

Students may take one of the courses offered, 3 credits: intermediate  
(210), Gateway to Advanced Arabic ARAB 250 advanced Reading and  
Conversation (330-331), and Dialect of Sham ARAB 380 courses.

Students will stay with Syrian families in Bab Tomah or Bab Sharqi  
within the Old City of Damascus.

Besides taking Arabic, students will enjoy two weekend excursions to  
Aleppo and Hamma and a visit to the ruins of Palmyra.

Prices will include two meals a day, trips, home-stay, and  
orientation. It will not cover airfare. Therefore, students are not  
required to return to the U.S. at a particular date. Students may take  
the advantage of being in the Middle East and plan other trips to  
Lebanon or Jordan prior to Jan 2nd or After the course is over.
