Dear Paula,

The semantic classes of verbs that you mention are of auxiliary verbs;  
the article, "Modern Standard Arabic", in the Encyclopedia of Arabic  
Language and Linguistics, edited by K. Versteegh et al., Vol. 3,  
presents a semantic classification of all verbs in terms of  
progressive, existential, volitional, change-of-state and other kinds  
of meaning,
