Middlebury College, Program in Arabic
Tenure Track Position in Arabic

The Arabic Program at Middlebury College announces an opening for a tenure track position, beginning September 2012. Native or near-native fluency in Arabic is required. The successful candidate will teach courses in Arabic language (at all levels) and other courses in literature, cultural studies, or linguistics appropriate for the Arabic major.  (Courses taught by members of the Arabic faculty may also fulfill degree requirements in other programs, such as Literary Studies, Linguistics, and/or the Middle East Studies track in the International Studies Major.) Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellent teaching and of plans for continued research in their field of scholarship.

Candidates who will be attending the Middle East Studies Association meeting in November in Washington D.C. and who are interested in interviewing at the meetings should make their availability known in their cover letter.

Application materials must be received by October 17th, 2011.   Middlebury College uses Interfolio to collect all faculty job applications electronically.
