This thing is just tokenism,  at which Irish governments are very good.

To raise just one question,  you can't have a 
system of translation and interpretation without 
a good foundation of dictionaries.  But there are 
no dictionaries between Irish and any of the 
other official EU languages,  except of course 
English,  and even these latter are out of date.

So what will happen is that the 
interpreters/translators willl go from, say 
German to English and then from English on to 
Irish.  Meaning that English will be used TWICE 
over!.
