Cathy,

    There are a few of ways to get what you want, but because kwal normally
output the whole tier and not just text selected with +/-s option you need
to be more specific about what exactly you want. Here is a small sample file
that I'll use for the following examples:

@Begin
@Participants: MOT Kelly Mother, JAM Target_Child
*JAM:    test <english text> [@en] .
*JAM:    <portuguese text> [@pt].
*JAM:    <english> [@en]  <portuguese> [@pt].
*MOT:    mother's text.
*JAM:    Mommy.
@End

If you want ONLY Portuguese text in your output, then command "kwal +t*jam
+s"<@pt>" test.cha +d3 +d" will produce this result:

>From file <test.cha>
*JAM:
*JAM:    <portuguese text>
*JAM:    <portuguese>
*JAM:

If you want the whole tier with ONLY Portuguese text, then command "kwal
+t*jam +s"[@pt]" test.cha +d" will produce this result:

*JAM:    <portuguese text> [@pt] .
*JAM:    <english> [@en] <portuguese> [@pt] .
