.ckp files

Sophie,

The .ckp files are created if the first line in "Edit->CLAN Options" menu window called "Checkpoint every:" is set to any number other than zero. This option creates backup .ckp file more often than backup option does at the rate that you can specify yourself.

The hidden tiers at startup of CLAN are controlled by "0hide.cut" file locate in "CLAN/lib" folder. The format of this file has changed number of years ago and if the "lib" button in "Commands" window is not pointing to the library that comes with CLAN distribution, then some tiers specified in that file will be hidden by default. You can change that file or delete it. Here is how that file should look like for the latest version of CLAN to work correctly:

#Comment lines start with the # sign
#Tiers with the # sign at the beginning will be shown
#To hide a tier, just remove the # sign
#%err
#%mor
#%spa
#%xgra

They think the .ckp file is getting created after they open the .cut file with our codes. I can't find anything in the manuals that mentions .ckp files and I'm not sure why they exist now, when we haven't seen those in the past. They don't open on our computers and don't seem to have any function. Can someone fill me in on why these are being created?

In the past, when I opened a .cha file, all our coded tiers were visible. Now, we have to go to "mode - show all tiers" every time. Is there something I did that made those quit showing up automatically when I open a file and is there a way to change that setting back?
