......Hey to all of you!  Briefly:  I'd just sent a msg to SALISHAN
mentioning the Coeur d'Alene English "water potato" for this plant, so
upon reading Sally's note I want to contribute that to CHINOOK as well.
=46or your information, the Coeur d'Alenes have a yearly "Water Potato
=46estival", and I'll find out when if you like.  Best,   Dave.........

   The word has apparently been borrowed from CJ into Yakima and,
perhaps from there or another Sahaptian source, into the Salishan
language Coeur d'Alene (where it's glossed as `potatoes that grow
in Yakima and Nez Perce country'). =20
