Dear Dave, Jeffrey,

I have been checking around for this 'o' question of Dave's and cannot
be affirmative but I think that this 'o ouvert' has generally the same
value in standard French as in other variants as Wallon. In the latter,
'o' in 'ome', 'telefone', etc. sound as un 'coq' (says my excellent 'le
wallon de poche' by Assimil). But the idea is somewhat relevant as eg
'brosse' (brush) appears as 'breuse' in Liegeois...

As treus vis-omes, Yann.
