WORD TOOLS

The Pih-Woh-Teh tool, mentioned above, in its non-animated form works well
for nouns, and the
animated version, when available, should fit many noun-verb situations.

A demo version of the Tah-Woh-Teh word teacher will be posted soon, pending
font revisions for one of
the learning modules. The demo uses the Chinook trade jargon, and will
include a Grand Ronde Wawa
module featuring linguist Tony Johnson, and a "Boston" (white-American
trader) Chinook jargon module
featuring Duane Pasco. This demonstration is taken from a bi-cultural
project on the Chinook trade
jargon which will eventually be published under the name "Kumtux Chinook".
It will showcase Pacific
Northwest tribes, geography, and history, and present the language as a
cross-cultural and inter-tribal
platform from both the "Boston" and "Siwash" (Indian) perspectives.
