Redbone "Potlatch"

The DePoe family are Siletz, and Southern Cheyenne....Some of them have
Makah blood, but I'm not sure how many/which branches

Robert DePoe, (son of "Depoe Charlie" a Yashui [Joshua] Athabaskan from
mouth of the Rogue, who was brought to Siletz) went to Carlisle Indian
School (Pennsylvania), and then taught music at Haskell Indian School
(Kansas) ca. 1908, and I believe met Mary Hauser there (southern Cheyenne)
they married and returned to Siletz, where he or they taught in one of the
Siletz Reservation Day Schools until they were closed and then moved to
Makah Reservation and raised their family there. Much of the DePoe family is
still enrolled at Siletz. Depoe Bay on the Oregon Coast is named for their
family having had Siletz Indian Allotments there. Peter lives here at
Siletz.
