Eskimo pidgin hymns obtained supernaturally

Ruth Shonle, 1924:274 ("The Christianizing process among preliterate
peoples") mentions that people obtained hymns or chants in the Eskimo
pidgin from Eskimos in heaven. (JSTOR will give you the cite.)

I'm not sure if this is mentioned in Stefansson's published work. It's of
interest in showing expansion of the Eskimo pidgin to new functions, as
happened with Chinook Jargon.
