Corpora: help with a reference

Dear all,

I am desperately seeking an article which I once came across. I have
spent months trying to find it again, with no success. I would greatly
appreciate any help if the following clues lead you to pinpoint a
reference. If not, I will have to conclude that I imagined it all.

i) issues of representativity, in
ii) Brown Corpus, re:
iii) recurrence of a word within a single text in the corpus, and
iv) as far as I can remember, the single word mentioned had some
semantic connection to the field of guns or firearms.

Any leads will be welcome.
