JOB DESCRIPTION

Janya Inc., located in suburban Buffalo, New York in the technology
corridor adjacent to the State University of New York at Buffalo, is a
leader in semantic technology pertaining to natural language
processing, machine learning, information extraction and text mining.
We are seeking a computational linguist to serve as manager of Janya
efforts to support text and data analysis in languages other than
English.

The candidate will (i) lead a small but growing team working to
enhance multilingual processing capabilities of Janya technologies,
(ii) will participate in government sponsored research and development
efforts, (iii) will directly support product enhancements to Janya
platforms by adding new language processing capabilities; and (iv)
will represent Janya in engagements with customers and partners.

This position will be based in Buffalo, NY. Salary will be
commensurate with education and experience.  Janya offers a generous

vacation time.

REQUIREMENTS

 - PhD or Masters degree in Computer Science or Linguistics
 - 3-5 years hands-on experience in development or support of Natural
Language Processing systems
 - Expertise in programming required
 - Expertise in discourse-level processing and/or semantics is required
 - Fluency in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, or another
language other than English
 - Linux and Windows development experience
 - US citizenship
 - Must possess or be able to obtain a US Security Clearance
 - Expertise in corpus-based, empirical, machine learning approaches
to language is highly desirable
