*Postdoc Position in Computational Linguistics / Machine Learning at
Gavagai, Stockholm, Sweden (http://www.gavagai.se <http://www.gavagai.se>)*

The position is located at Gavagai in Stockholm, Sweden, and affiliated to
the Department of Computer Science at Linnaeus University, Sweden.

Job status: full time limited to two years; starting date should be as soon
as possible, preferably January 5, 2015.

*Major Tasks*

- Research in the field of Computer Science with a particular focus on the
field of Computational Linguistics / Machine Learning. The position is part
of the StaViCTA project on advances in the description and explanation of
stance in discourse using visual and computational text analytics; funded
for four years by the framework grant No. 2012-5659 from the Swedish
Research Council (StaViCTA project web page: http://cs.lnu.se/stavicta/).
- Regularly present research results at international conferences and
workshops, and publish them in conference proceedings and journals.
- Collaboration with the other members of the StaViCTA project in an
interdisciplinary research environment.

*Qualification Requirements*

The candidate should hold a good PhD degree in Computer Science or
Computational Linguistics (or the equivalent). Excellent background and
knowledge in machine learning / data mining and natural language processing
is a strong advantage. Experience with sentiment analysis and deep learning
algorithms are an additional important qualification. Good programming
skills (Java and/or Python) and a solid training in mathematics and
statistics are required. Knowledge of linguistics and semantics are
preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are
essential. Because of the interdisciplinary character of the project, the
candidate should be an enthusiastic person who is interested in making
sense of large and dynamic text data (such as in blogs) as well as capable
of working both independently and within a group.
