CALL FOR SHORT PAPERS
  FIRE
(Forum for Information Retrieval Evaluation)
 Workshop
 Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore
 5-7 December 2014

 http://www.isical.ac.in/~fire

The success of TREC, CLEF, and NTCIR has clearly established the
importance of building reusable, large-scale standard test collections
in Information Access research. The Forum for Information Retrieval
Evaluation (FIRE) follows in the footsteps of TREC, CLEF and NTCIR
with the following aims:
* to encourage research in South Asian language Information Access
technologies by providing appropriate test collections;
* to explore new Information Retrieval / Access tasks that arise as
our information needs evolve, and new needs emerge.

SHORT PAPER Session:
We invite short papers (4 pages) describing work on any topic related
to Information Retrieval and its evaluation. Specially welcome are the
papers on creation of standard test collections on any sub-domain in
the broad area of information access. Submitted papers will be
blind-reviewed according to originality and technical merit. Selected
papers will be published in the Workshop Proceedings in ACM Digital
Library and can be presented during the Workshop. Authors of selected
short papers will be invited to submit an extended version for
publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

SUBMISSION:
The papers must be written in English and should not exceed 4 pages in
the ACM 2-column format (including references and figures). Suitable
LaTeX and Word templates are available from the ACM Website:
http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates (for LaTeX,
use Option 2). The only accepted format for submissions is PDF. Short
papers must be submitted electronically using EasyChair
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fire20140). After login, please
choose the short paper option for submission.

Author identity should be concealed (please omit author names and
affiliations from the initial submission). Submissions that are over
the 4-page limit or are not anonymous will be rejected without review.
Note that shorter version of full papers that have already been
published elsewhere (including in another language) are not acceptable
as short paper submissions for FIRE.

At least one author must register and attend the conference. Please
note that it is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the
PDF submission has been uploaded successfully (we suggest that you try
downloading your paper again yourself, to check).
