Please join us for a colloquium titled Considering Peace, War and the
Media to be held in the 9th floor auditorium at Hawaii Tokai
International College (2241 Kapiolani Blvd. Honolulu, Hawai'i) on
Saturday, June 7th from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm.  The conference will
feature 3 speakers speaking on the following topics:

Dr. Glenn Paige (Founder and President of Center for Global
Nonviolence)
Is a Nonkilling Society Possible?

Dr. Tom Fee (Director of Matsunaga Institute for Peace at University of
Hawai'i at Manoa)
Peacemaking Leadership- Opportunities and Challenges

Dr. Scott Saft (Director of International Programs at Hawai'i Tokai
International College)
Considering the Language of Peace and War in the Media: A Case Study
of Japanese Newspapers

The purpose of the colloquium is for the audience and the speakers to
think together about the possibilities of peace in a world in which
people continue to honor and engage openly in war. Each speaker will be
given 50 minutes to be used for their presentation and to field
questions. In addition, 30 minutes will be set aside, from 12:00-12:30,
for free discussion among all the participants with refreshments
served.

The event is free and free parking is available at the conference site.
