Joke analysis

Dear colleagues,
I am trying to do a critical discourse analysis of Persian SMS jokes collected randomly last year. The jokes I have collected have three important characteristics. One, some of these jokes show the reaction of people towards government policy and may be considered as way of political resistance against government. Two, most of the jokes can be interpreted as a way of marginalizing some Iranian ethnic groups. Another aspect of these jokes is that most of them are sex oriented and represent women as a mere object of sex.
Since this is my first project in this field, I am not familiar with the related literature. In fact, I am looking for a methodology for joke analysis within CDA. I would appreciate any comments in this regard.

With Best Wishes
Ali A. Sultani
