Dear listers,

Happy New Year to you all!

We are currently doing a research on New Discourses of Contemporary China
under the guidance of Prof Chilton and Wodak. It is an international
network project funded by the Leverhulme Trust and based at Department of
Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University. We have a brief
description of the project at
www.ling.lancs.ac.uk/research/projects/discoursechina.htm

We have now also set up a mailing list: ndcc at lists.lancs.ac.uk as a
platform for discussion and exchange of information. Topics that
participants will wish to discuss include, among others, identity
discourses, political discourse, organisational discourse, gender and
language, language and discourse change, theories of discourse, the
concept of the "critical" in CDA, all related to the sociopolitical change
in China.

People who are interested in taking part in the discussion or would like
to be sent NDCC information can send an email to the above list address,
or to me at h.tian at lancaster.ac.uk, then I can add their names to the
list.

Best wishes,

Hailong
