Le comité organisateur de la 13ème Conférence internationale de l’Académie internationale de droit linguistique a le plaisir de vous inviter à participer à cette importante rencontre sur le thème «Droits linguistiques, inclusion et la prévention des conflits ethniques » qui se tiendra au Horizon Village Resort à Chiang Mai, en Thaïlande, du 13 au 17 décembre.

Si les droits linguistiques sont d’actualité un peu partout dans le monde, ils demeurent néanmoins fort mal compris, et ce malgré l’importance de la langue dans de nombreux conflits en Asie, (Inde, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thaïlande, Chine, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong), en Europe (Belgique, Suisse, Italie, Espagne, Kosovo, Macédonie, Ukraine), en Afrique (Cameroun, Afrique du Sud, Ethiopie, Maroc, Libye, Algérie) et dans les Amériques (peuples autochtones, Canada, Mexique, Pérou, Paraguay). De plus, la diversité linguistique mondiale est  elle-même de plus en plus menacée, avec plus de la moitié environ des 6 000 à 7 000 langues parlées dans le monde menacées de disparition d'ici quelques décennies.

The Organising Committee for the 13th International Conference of the International Academy on language and Law is pleased to invite you to participate in this important gathering on the theme of “Language Rights, Inclusion and the Prevention of Ethnic Conflicts”, to be held from 13-17 December at the Horizon Village Resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

While language rights are topical in many parts of the world, they are still widely misunderstood despite being a significant factor in many conflicts in Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, China, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong), Europe (Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Kosovo, Macedonia, Ukraine), Africa (Cameroon, South Africa, Ethiopia, Morocco, Libya, Algeria) and the Americas (Canada, Mexico, Peru, Paraguay). In addition, worldwide language diversity itself is increasingly threatened, with more than half of the world’s 6,000 to 7,000 languages expected to disappear in the next few decades.
