Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics
University of Portsmouth

Employment Basis:  Full-time
Salary:  £32,267 - £35,244

The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer to undertake teaching and
research in the areas of Critical Discourse Analysis and Systemic
Functional Linguistics.  Preference will be given to candidates with
additional expertise in Stylistics, Sociolinguistics or Multimodality.

The appointee will contribute to teaching English Language and
Linguistics at undergraduate level and to Applied Linguistics at
postgraduate level.  S/he will also contribute to the teaching of
study skills, research management and dissertation supervision.

The successful candidate will have completed a relevant PhD, or be
very close to completion and will be an active researcher with
evidence of publications/potential to publish.   In addition, we are
looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is
student-centred.
