 Hello,
I am a teacher, acting librarian, and documentary artifact curator at a
state regional treatment center for adults with chronic and persistent
mental illness. My interest in discourse is deeply rooted in my high school
(HS) days (ca. 1961-65), my military service, and post VietNam service; as
well as in trying to be a good father. After HS my first active duty station
was at Midway Is. There I was a tugboat seaman, and part-time radio/tv
announcer producer. Following service in the US Navy, I worked at several
commercial radio stations, and attended college - where I edited the school
paper. When I could no longer support mysself in broadcasting
(a too-damn-competitive business) I became a teacher.
The Riley family has one _famous_ writer in its genealogy: James (_The frost
is on the pumpkin..._) Whitcomb Riley.
I am curious, and I hope to be an occasional list participant.
