Professor Roger Fowler

Dear Colleagues, for those of you who may not know, Professor Roger Fowler
died of a massive heart attack last Sunday. As many of you will be aware,
he was instrumental in developing critical linguistics in the UK in the
1970s and beyond and has been at the forefront of critical approaches to
language, literature, linguistics, media and discourse for many years.
