Hi Discourse Subscribers !
I got my PhD in the field of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
from AU (Azad University at Tehran, Iran) in 1996. My MA is also in TEFL,
but my BA is in the field of the English Language and Literature from ATU
(Allame Tabataba'i University - Tehran).
My fields of interest are Chomskyan Linguistics (Minimalism) as well as
Discourse Analysis. I am also interested in the syntax-discourse interface.
I have published a number of books and articles whose list will be provided
in case of inquiry and I am currently working on a Glossary of Discourse
Analysis with the cooperation of a professor of Linguistics (Dr. S. Ali
Miremadi) and an associate professor of Applied Linguistics (Dr. M. Hossein
Keshavarz). Your suggestions are warmly welcomed in this regard.
I have taught different courses at AU and UTE (University for Teacher
Education) like Syntax (Minimalism), Discourse Analysis, and Pedagogic
Phonetics & Phonology to graduate students of Linguistics, TEFL, and the
English Literature.
My interest in Discourse Analysis lies primarily in the application of DA to
Foreign language Teaching.
I love Widdowson for what he has done and the way he writes.

Kourosh Lachini (Mr.)
Assistant Professor of TEFL
Azad University at Karaj, Iran.
