The 6th Annual Texas A & M Conference on Presidential Rhetoric will be held
March 2-5, 2000 at the George Bush Presidential Library and Conference
Center on the campus of Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas.
The theme for the conference is "The White House and Civil Rights Policy."
This is an interdisciplinary conference, directed by James Arnt Aune and
Enrique D. Rigsby, featuring speakers from the fields of Communication,
English, History, Law, and Political Science.  The keynote speaker will be
E. Culpepper Clark, Dean of the College of Communication at the University
of Alabama.  Other speakers include Bush Administration civil rights
official Boyden Gray, the historian Douglas Brinkley, and Communication
scholars David Zarefsky, Kirt Wilson, Marouf A. Hasian, Jr., Steven
Goldzwig, Diane Blair, Craig R. Smith, Richard J. Jensen, John C.
Hammerback, Garth Pauley, and Trevor Parry-Giles.

Conference registration fees are $65.00 (prepaid by February 4, 2000), or
$85.00 (for onsite registration).  Currently enrolled graduate or
undergraduate students can register for $35.00 (prepaid) or $55.00
