Reform of Basque education system will "teach how to learn"

The Education Department of the Basque Government presented on Wednesday, May
9, the official documents that fix the contents to be taught in the obligatory
schooling period, for children aged from 6 to 16.

All those school centres offering Primary and Secondary education will be
obliged to abide by the reform.

One of the main novelties of the programme defines the basic competences a
pupil must have acquired by the time he/she finishes the obligatory education
in eight fields: mathematics, linguistic communication, treatment of
information, digital, cultural and artistic, and social competence, 'learn to
learn' and personal autonomy and initiative.
