Second Language Processing and Parsing: State of the Science

 

May 21-24, 2009

 

Abstract due date: November 1, 2008

 

Abstracts will be considered in any area of L2 research related to processing and parsing including but not limited to:

· L1/L2/bilingual differences

· Ultimate attainment

· Near-nativeness

· Universals

· Relationship of processing and parsing to acquisition

· Domain specific parsing and processing (e.g., lexical, syntactic)

· Neurocognitive aspects of processing and parsing

· Interface between processing, parsing, and instruction

· Issues in research methodology

 

In addition, papers on language production are welcome if they are related to processing issues (e.g., Processability Theory) and/or connect issues of production to input processing and parsing.

 

Abstracts must contain the following information:

· Title

· Name(s) and affiliation(s) of author(s)

· E-mail address

· Postal address

· Phone and fax numbers

· 300 word maximum abstract (single spaced, 12 pt font, Times preferred)

 

Submit abstracts as a Word document attached to an email message with the subject heading "L2 Processing Submission" to:
