Pearson grows its Chinese presence

 

Education publishing giant Pearson is to acquire Wall Street English, a China-based English language provider, for $145 million (£97 million) in cash.

 

Pearson, which publishes the Financial Times newspaper and Penguin books, will buy the training provider from its parent company, Wall Street Institute, which is majority-owned by private equity firm Carlyle Group.
