A pill for learning Chinese?

Larry,
I'm not sure you remember me, but I was your student at San José State. I recall having a beer or two with you after class. I don't drink alcohol any more, but I have fond memories of being able to chat with you, a world class scholar.
I retired from Arizona State, after almost 20 years there, and I have been at UC Davis for 6 years. I'm going on sabbatical for 2 quarters - to the University of Guadalajara - then plan to retire again in 2016.
Take care,
Chris
