General Summary
The position of Assistant Director of the English Language Institute oversees the academic aspects of the program, including curriculum, assessment, and supervision of the ELI faculty.

Required Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or closely related field
2. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an Intensive English Program (IEP)
3. Solid knowledge of English as a Second Language (ESL) research and methodologies
4. Demonstrated experience developing ESL curriculum
5. Exceptional leadership and management skills
6. Strong understanding of the needs of English language learners and international students in general
7. Demonstrated support and advocacy for diversity and inclusion
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
9. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

Desired Qualifications
1. Doctoral degree in TESOL or other closely related terminal degree
2. Flexible and creative decision-making and problem-solving managerial skills
3. Superior computer skills
4. Experience living and/or working abroad or similar cross-cultural experiences
5. Experience teaching English to adult learners
6. IEP management experience
