add my
voice to
those
against
moderating
the list.
If
people are
uncomfortable
with actual
debate
there are
plenty of
lists
with
fluffier
topics out
there. I
have not
noticed any
personal
attacks in
this
discussion
or any
flaming,
just
passionate
debate.
An example
of much
more
dubious
behaviour -
just the
other day
on
Mercury-L
(about
Mercury
Mail
Server)
someone
asked
another
listmember
(at the
height of
some
argument)
if the
letters
F.O. meant
anything to
them.
That's more
like
flaming and
it was
dealt with
simply by
the
listowner
posting a
message
explaining
that
personal
attacks are
not
acceptable
and
politeness
was
expected.
