presenting sentences containing words in bold

Can anyone suggest a method for presenting individual sentence texts in which one word in each sentence is in bold? The only solution I have come up with so far is to create the sentences in a word processing package and copy them individually to bitmap files to display as pictures, one for each trial. However this is proving to be extremely tedious for a large number of sentence files. I thought I could have a set of text strings for sections of the sentence, entered as individual attributes in a trial list. One of these attributes would have font set to bold, and the sections could be presented instantaneously. But I haven't been able to work out how to determine automatically the position of each subsequent bit of text, given that the sentence strings have variable lengths and the word in bold has variable locations through the string.
